Clinical evaluation of 0.3% Prednisolone 17-valerate 21-acetate(Lidomex)cream

Abstract

|
The clinical effect of topical prednisolone 17-valerate 21-acetate(Lidomexr´ , PVA) cream was evaluated in 25 patients with atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis, involving mainly facial area. 1 % hydrocortisone cream was used as a control.
The degree of erythema, papule & vesicle, woozing & crust, lichenification and subjective symptoms were used as clincal parameters.
The following results were obtained.
1. Comparative efficacy of PVA cream was superior to that of 1 % hydrocortisone cream. 2. There were no significant side effects during the treatment period, except two patients developed acneiform eruptions.
3. After 4 weeks treatment. 23 out of the 25 patients showed complete clearing of symptoms and signs.
